Cleveland artist Shari Wilkins will be doing a study of the Scioto River, using photographic and cyanotype processes. LAUNCH one-month curatorial residencies at Second Sight are funded through the Ohio Arts Council.

LAUNCH artists: In the Essence.

In the Essence investigates the relationship between identity and place. Artists Julie Green,Grace Oller and Regina Zehner will collaborate on an interdisciplinary installation to converse on how architecture, abstraction, and archival work intersect with the politics embedded within place and placelessness. In the Essence proposes a look at the places that we occupy, that we belong in, that we imagine and the places that we have lost over time.

The Mike Ingles Story Project

Mike Ingles grew up in the Bottoms and has written some beautifully detailed, humorous, and poignant short-story accounts of his formative years here. Second Sight Project is working with Central High School, the Girl Sprouts, and Columbus Collegiate Academy to illustrate these childhood memories and to preserve important narratives of place. Please join us on April 20 when we unveil an exhibition of student illustrations alongside Mike's literature.

This project has been generously funded by the Franklinton Arts District.

Hearts United for One Billion Rising.

Now in its sixth year, Hearts United is an open-participation public art project. As part of One Billion Rising and "V-Day," the biggest mass action to end violence against women in human history, Hearts United is a way to tangibly and visibly support those affected by gender-based violence.
